i loooove the look of boyfriend jeans. another fav style for spring/summer! the main difference in the boyfriend versus other styles is the straight hip. this type of cut defeminizes our curves and makes for a more relaxed fit.

when i think of boyfriend jeans, i think of levi's. in my opinion, levi's is the only one that can do it right. maybe because they were the pioneers? too many suggestions/comments/concerns from men that their significant others have been swiping their beloved 501s?

on my lunch i wanted to get out of the office so i drove tothe nearest shopping plaza and there was a ross there. coincidence? i think not. my sis loved her newly gifted paige denim so much she now wants to "raid the ross" (her words!) in that area. she's been super green that i've found so many designer items for dirt cheap that she wanted in on the fun too. however, that's a bit of a drive during the week, so i thought i'd pop into a local one to see if they had any. nope. but i did find these!

while i can appreciate fashion in all its genres, i myself am very eclectic in my personal style. i also dress depending on the context. for instance, at work i am more polished in my appearance and i prefer simple, clean lines. think charlotte york or forever 21's love 21 line.

in summer, i love the romantic look of bohemian or preppy beach wear. something like freepeople or a+f or hollister.

for an overall look i seem to have found a favorite in korean/japanese street wear. the look is so relaxed, comfortable, effortless and stylish all at the same time. oh, how i wish i had narrow hips and less of a booty to pull off more of these looks. sigh.

Finally got around to seeing this movie. Loved it! Audrey Tautou is one of my favorite foreign film actresses and what a treat to see her in such an iconic role fashion wise. I have to say, way better than the Shirley MacLaine Lifetime Movie gig. I love how effortlessly chic Chanel was. Even back in her time when women still bound themselves in suffocating girdles and buried themselves under a mountain of gaudy jewels. Her personal style is so timeless, if worn today, it would still look fashion forward and not dated.

I was giving my brain a break from schoolwork and decided to roam around different online shops I haven't been to in a while (just so you all can't say I am biased with Forever 21! ;p)

Haven't liked midriffs in awhile, but when I saw this modern twist on a midriff I couldn't deny being suckered. - $16.99

Hm, not really Spring, but I liked the DIY feel of the slashed collar of this shirt. - $18.99

I LOVE the ginormous slouchy pocket on this racerback tank! And it's in my favorite Summer color. Coral just looks so lovely on sun kissed skin! - $10.00

Forever 21 Haul

Since my last few hauls was pretty much me stocking up on Fall items due to the awesome prices, I just had to make my birthday haul a preparation for Spring looks.

These first few items I got at the F21 2-story in Anaheim. I only got a few items there because I didn't find much that I liked and knew I had a Shopping Bag started online already. ;p

Side Note: Don't go to that one on a Saturday unless you like waiting in long lines! I am talking dressing rooms AND registers!

Cute little red leather braided belt.

I don't have a red belt and braided belts look so cute in the Spring/Summer.

Instant must-have.

I would wear this cloth belt with a washed out denim shirt. If I had one.

Romantic little bandeau type bra.

I actually got this the other day but just found the matching panties today.

I wore the bra under a sheer white collared shirt that I cinched with a tan belt.

Which reminds me, I did shop the other day but can't find pics of the items on the website.

I am too lazy to take pics right now, but I must because I found the cutest tie-dyed maxi dress.

Now for the online portion...

I actually saw this cute tunic for the first time the other day at school before knowing it was from F21. The girl wearing it looked so cute, I did a literal double take on her.

She must've thought I was crazy but she looked so adorable I couldn't stop checking her out!

When I logged onto F21, I was so excited when I saw it there on the New Arrivals!

I just love the color scheme of it so I put it right in my Shopping Bag.

The best part is the back detailing...

It's a t-back with the entire zipper exposed.

So cute and different! I just hope that it doesn't lay awkward.

I just adore this chunky ring and all of it's crazy textures. It also comes in gold, but I am not a big fan of gold. Plus my wedding/engagement band is white gold so I rarely wear any gold jewelry due to the clash factor.

Another item I was drawn to simply for the color scheme. It's a light weight scarf, so wearing it on cool Spring or Summer nights with a simple white v-neck will be just perfect.

Yet another pair of F21 jeans. I am so glad they are better on the fit now. Back in the day, I used to throw away so much money on designer jeans that now sit unworn in my closet. After I had my little one and was in the process of losing the baby weight, I decided to give F21 jeans a shot as I transitioned back to my normal weight. I have lost the weight but not the jeans! I keep coming back for more. I have wanted these for a while but every time I stop in the stores, they are out in my size. I like the length of it, not too much bunching at the ankles.

This might be a bit TMI, but I thought this bra was so girly-cute.

I like how it's so frilly and dainty.

There are just some days I prefer not to wear any wires.

Rosary Style Necklace - $5.80

Really into rosaries right now for some reason, it goes so well with billowy tops for Spring. We have had one in our home, but it's been blessed and I feel a bit wrong about wearing it as a fashion statement. So I found a blue one the other day at a thrift shop and thought that desire was satiated until I spied this white and crystal one at F21. I feel a collection coming on.

It's been a real long time since I have shopped at a thrift store. Reason? Many of the shops in my area have the most boring and unimaginative clothes for more than what I can find in the clearance racks at retail stores. I mean nothing really from another era or from a quality designer. They all seem pretty recent articles and in horrible shape for an outrageous amount of money.

Anyway, the hubs is in the market for a hat/coat rack and can't seem to find one so we thought why not check out a thrift store? While there I actually took some time and found some great pieces. Like the above men's inspired loafers for $5.99.

Don't know how or why I do this to myself but I plant a little seed of curiosity and it bugs me until I scratch the itch. What am I talking about? Well, all that blabbering about Target the other day got me curious to see if maybe I missed something interesting within the Rodarte line. So I was visiting family in an obscure town in CA where I don't think the demographics there is much into fashion. I won't say where I was for the slim chance I may offend some closet fashion fiend out there.

Logic had me thinking that I may be able to find some pieces left in the collection. So before we made it to the family's house I had the hubs make a slight detour to the Super Target. Why is it super? Because there is a super market inside of it now. Clever. We get there and as suspected there were some straggler pieces hanging in the clearance section. I was surprised to see that some were in my size, which does not happen often. Of course that lacy dress wasn't there and...

Neither was this lace overlay dress, but had it been I would've shrieked like a banshee and ran for the cashier humming the SATC theme song.

It.is.so.adorable.

This tulle turtleneck type blouse and tulle slip skirt was there. I got it on clearance for $7.48. Not bad. I am getting more and more into the navy on black. I couldn't find a picture of it but I also got a simple black lace/silk cami for $9something. There were also these items in mustard and fuschia. Both colors completely unflattering on me so I let them be.

This sequin leopard print dress was there and adorable but it was missing a few sequins at the neckline, so I passed it up.

This leopard print lacy dress was there and I am so sorry fashion gods, but I thought it was utterly hideous in person. The lace was crunchy to the touch and itchy and the color looked drab. There were also three bows on the back that didn't do a thing for it.

Now that I am back home and thinking more and more about Jean Paul Gaultier, I am getting all giddy and antsy. I will be out of town that weekend and probably road tripping it home that Sunday, but I will find a way!
