A New Post for the New Year!

All that ranting about Costco the other day must have lodged it real good in my noggin because guess where I was on New Years's Eve? Right. You're good! I was actually at Costco debating the fact with my hubs that they do not carry mattresses on stock at our local Costco and that they must be ordered online. Of course, I won the debate.

After shoving my face with an impossibly ginormous slice of cheese pizza and then eyeballing the yardstick Churros, I decided to take a gander at the health and beauty section. There wasn't anything that exciting to report, but I thought the Stila girls out there might appreciate the heads up on this. This 5 pack of brushes is selling for only $21.99! Now that's a deal. The brushes included are numbers (L2R): 2, 4 9, 11, and 24a. That's a total individual value of $134.00!

Some sly dogs are selling the set for $39.99 on eBay... starting bid! What a rip! I'd rather take a road trip to a Costco and deal with the bulk shopping freaks for this outrageous deal!

Beauty In Bulk!

I went to Costco tonight to satiate my Twilight blood lust, but was bummed to find out they had sold out of the 4 book saga. So I did a run-by at the beauty section on my exit route and blurted out a loud "WHAT?!".

Ladies, they have M.A.C at Costco!!!! I saw three single eyeshadow pots for $11.49 each in Orb, Newly Minted, and Blackberry. Sorry the pics are a bit blurry, I shot them on my camera phone.

It was a bit strange to see the single eyeshadow pots packed in that humongo plastic casing. It felt like I was visiting an old friend in prison. So impersonal, so cold. HA HA.  They also had Stila neutral eyeshadow duos in a 6 pack (12 shades) for $16.99!

Time to drop by your local Costco! After that, run home, log on to BeautyCrunch.com and scoop up one of these...

$9.60 vs. $24.00 Retail

a match made in make up heaven!

I also read something INTERESTING about Costco's online pricing. It seems that due to a contractual agreement with certain companies, Costco is prohibited from advertising products at lower than the manufacturers' suggested retail price or MSRP. Sooooo, they indicate the MSRP online but once you put the item into your Shopping Cart the price may be even lower than expected. So, remember, always place items in your cart before being turned off to an item simply for the price tag. You may be surprised!

Beauty In Bulk!

So you thought I ditched the blogging again did ya? Well noooo, I have been super busy planning two consecutive birthday parties this week so I had to stay away for a bit. BUT, while finishing up my party #2 shopping at Costco tonight, I ran into this...

Holy Smashbox Batman! For only $19.99...

You get a cute black compact with a four shade palette of neutral colors...

Clockwise from top left; a medium pink shade, a taupe shade, a pale yellow shade, and a dark brown shade. The packaging described the palette just like above. So I went on the website and I am guessing the color names are (in the same order) Shell, Minx, Champange, and Rapture.

A sample packet of Photo Finish foundation primer...

A good sized tube of Skin Tint in Radiance...

Three adorable doll sized lipglosses in...

The lipglosses come with a cute patent leather pink case which snugly fits all three glosses...

Oh, and it has a tiny mirror!

and finally sample sized tubes of their Layer Lash Primer (GREAT stuff! Doesn't try fast and hard!) and That's a Wrap Mascara in black.

Burp!

This package was such a steal, I couldn't pass it up. It was so hard to decide between this or the Stila package they had on sale for $15.99, which sold at Nordstrom's for about $40! Being that I have tried more Smashbox products than Stila, my choice was obvious. Check out their Curtain Call section of smashbox.com. You may just run into the full size products on SALE!

PS. Do not ask the hubs what to do in a decision crisis such as this! His answer was "Get the better bargain." Um, HELLO?! Needless to say, I will back tomorrow WITHOUT him to get the Stila package!

I will do a complete look with all the items in this package and will post my thoughts as well as any photos I remember to take!

Get Your Lash On!

I have a wedding coming up in about three weeks and was out shopping for some lashes late last night. The babe and hubs were due for some quality time and I snuck away the moment I got the chance! I like to wear falsies for special occasions, so I don't usually have them on hand. When on the hunt, I only hit up the drugstores for the Ardell brand lashes. I find that drugstores such as Long's Drugstore, Walgreen's, CVS, Rite Aid frequently have them on sale for dirt cheap and as suspected, I got lucky last night!

The first store I hit was Long's Drugstore and jackpot! All make up is on sale from 20% to 50% off or buy one get one free from brands including Revlon, Almay... you know, the usual suspects!

I found what I was looking for in the Ardell section but was pretty bummed to find that the black lashes were only a measly 20% off while the browns were 50% off but at $1.75 each I didn't complain that long! Nothing, the blackest of black mascara couldn't fix! Lash Adhesive was also on sale at 20% off.

P.S. The freaks do come out at night and the hot spot hangout are apparently drugstores! In one visit, I spied the weirdest of the human species.
Of course this dedicted CCS groupie did check it out and found MAC lashes at $7.00 but since I don't wear them often, I don't invest much in them. For those of you die hard lash fans, they are there for the taking at CCS!

Another deal I did spot is for all you Lancome Hypnose lash lovers! While scoping out Costco.com (Yes, they do beauty in bulk!) I did find a two pack for $39.99! These are regularly $24.00 for just one tube at the Lancome counters or Sephora. That's a savings of $8.63! Time to stock up!
